The article focuses on an analysis of the foundations of the concept of educational innovation, and particularly on its relationship with the use of technology, as a result of the needs derived from the recent SARS-CoV-2 pandemic. Through a review of the origins of the concept of innovation and an analysis from the philosophical perspective of the performance society, the text contributes to the discussion on the foundations and orientations of pedagogical practices based on the concept of educational innovation in the times of a pandemic. For this purpose, the essay feeds on the philosophical postulates of freedom and modernity, offering the possibility of contributing to a reflection on the scope and risks of the use of educational innovation as an unquestionable guide to educational work in the midst of a pandemic.Downloads
